After my crash and the untimely demise of SHO I had to get a replacement bike. Since "RAPTOR" ...
...is and will be my A-steed, and California Blue (the revamped Trek1200)
is "only" my winter bike that I ride in bad weather and/or if everything else needs service/cleaning and yours truly is too lazy to do it... Anyway, I needed a bike "in-between" with (at least) a light Carbon frame and nicely equipped, preferably compatible to the 10-speed DuraAce "Raptor".
I bought a slightly used Italian beauty...
... no not the French Peugeot-crap-in-a-box-on-four-wheels-so- called-car behind it... but the Olympia iQ in the foreground. If you're Anglo-centric with TREK and GIANT and SPECIALIZED or Helvetian-touched with BMC like me... you probably never heard of Olympia before... Well they have an impressive operation South of the Alps (see HERE).
The frame and fork, Ultegra-equipped cost me 1900€. Although it has 3000 km it is brand new, no scratches or dings. I added pedals and one of my (formerly on SHO) San Marco Concor saddles...
plus a sweet birthday present from my babe consisting of 2 DTSwiss Mon Chasseral wheels (white rims to add to the beauty of the steed) and voilà... a new bike to ...
... put in my living room for now (since for another 2 weeks I am not allowed for medical reasons to tear up the asphalt of the Luxembourg roads).
So in the meantime the "No-Name" bike ...
... was invaded by my some funny looking critters...
Seriously... I need to get that baby outside and put some serious KM on the counter. Watch out for an update and first ride report... after July 15th.
